Using cut and torn pieces of paper, the painstaking collages of Jane Jones are highly unusual and quietly beautiful.
Her inspiration ranges from the everyday (a teacup, a wind swept tree or a view through a door to a garden) to the bizarre (a red trousered rabbit).
Textures, shapes and colours are mingled layer upon layer to create an almost translucent effect that is dreamy and timeless. Her work as a theatre propmaker imforms her art, which invokes a quieter, slower and calmer world away from the daily bombardment of the senses we experience in modern life.
Jane's work is in private collections in the U.K and overseas.
She is available for commissions.
